Paris, September 25, 2025 — On the eve of the 10th anniversary of Congo’s biggest protest
Ten years ago, on September 27, 2015, the streets of Brazzaville erupted in resistance against Denis Sassou Nguesso’s constitutional coup. Thousands stood up for democracy—only to be met with repression, arrests, and betrayal.
Today, the Sassoufit Collective launches a new weapon of resistance:
Oko vs the Kleptos — a retro 2D browser game where rebellion goes pixelated.
“On September 27, 2015, the Congolese people mobilized for change, but they were betrayed. By altering the constitution, Sassou Nguesso confiscated the nation’s hopes. With the restructuring of the military command, the acquisition of new equipment for the presidential guard, and his declarations of support for the Chinese and Russian regimes, he is preparing to repress the people to ensure he can manipulate the election scheduled for next March.” –
Andrea Ngombet, Executive Director of Sassoufit Collective
From the Sassoufit Collective comes Oko vs the Kleptos!
A 2D pixel rebellion to crush corruption, where every boss fight represents a kleptocrat clinging to power.
“For every underpaid or unpaid Congolese civil servant, this game’s your protest. Fire it up on those government computers and turn your workday into a digital uprising!”

As Congo approaches the 2026 presidential election, the regime prepares once again to silence dissent with repression and foreign-backed militarization. But the people’s spirit of resistance cannot be erased.
Oko vs the Kleptos is more than a game—it’s a reminder that the fight for freedom continues.
